Youngjoo Yoo, Jeweler
Youngjoo Yoo is a Jeweler working in her studio in Niles, Michigan. She creates earrings, necklaces and rings inspired by the geometric platonic solid form. She fabricates each piece using silver, 24k and 18k gold.
I am greatly interested in the geometric platonic solid. But the work with geometric forms also may give a cold feeling to spectator for the inanimate images included in it.
To mitigate this feeling, I often integrate the inanimate images with animated ones such as flowers, trees, and other live objects in nature, in order to endow the work with the warm feeling.
