Elizabeth Lyne, Jeweler

Elizabeth Lyne, Jeweler in Cary, North Carolina, creates original jewelry inspired by color, interesting stones and pearls to be worn every day.

Her earrings, pendants and necklaces are hand fabricated using untextured sterling silver and 14k double-clad goldfill sheets, wire and tubing. She applies textures with a rolling mill and scraps of fabrics. Elizabeth’s favorite designs have interchangeable parts and can be worn in several ways.

Elizabeth was also awarded the Jan Gregg Award in 2011 and 2015.

Elizabeth Lyne

Elizabeth Lyne.  I have always been fascinated with the 3-dimensional structures found in plants, flowers, and insects.  I have collected many picture books showing these shapes.  When I see one that I really like, I draw my own interpretation of it, trying to figure out how to represent it as a 3-dimensional object in metal and etching the different components onto silver.

I love researching and practicing the skills and techniques required to make these pieces possible.  I also make tools to help me form them by hand.  Most of my pieces incorporate pretty stones or pearls and many also contain 22k or 24k gold.

Elizabeth was also awarded the Jan Gregg Award in 2011 and 2015.
