Murielle Arlin
Murielle Arlin is a North Carolina Fiber Artist and Designer, who hand knits women’s jackets, coats and ensembles. She also creates limited edition or one-of-a-kind designs that are also hand dyed.
Murielle is constantly driven to search for new and interesting yarns, some of which she dyes in either a hot or cold water process. She uses wool, cotton, rayon, silk, viscose or any fiber which she believes can be knitted with two needles.
These yarns are then incorporated into a design that suits each fiber, the proper texture, fiber color and draping of the knitted fabric. The shape of the garment is determined by the texture and weight of the yarn and Murielle’s particular idea. She has used applique consisting of beads, leather, fabric or other yarns in her pieces as well.
Murielle’s intent in creating these garments is to marry fashion, fiber, form, color and texture. Her inspiration is light, shape, movement and nature as well as the street.
