Maggie Joynt, Jeweler in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, designs and create necklaces, earrings and bracelets using sterling silver, copper, brass and mixed gemstones.  She uses many techniques including forging, soldering, roll printing and stone setting.

Texture and movement are important elements in Maggie’s jewelry.  She creates texture with hand-carved hammers and by imprinting fabric, paper and other natural found objects, such as the frayed wing of a butterfly, with a rolling mill.   This process preserves the delicate texture directly onto the metal.  The addition of heat-formed rivets act as hinges and lend an industrial look.

Maggie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Illinois State University, where she graduated magna cum laude.  She started her jewelry business in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  In 2006 she opened a studio and gallery space at the Riverwood Shops in historic Dillsboro, NC, which she had for over six years.  Maggie now works from a home-based studio in the Sandhills region of North Carolina with Duke and Finley, her canine helpers.
