Carol Owen, Mixed Media Artist
Carol Owen is a mixed media artist working out of her studio in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Carol creates three-dimensional assemblages of shrines, spirit houses and altered books. Honoring family treasures and histories, she uses personal mementoes to celebrate and make sacred people, places and events. These works of art often include secret compartments and niches, enticing the viewer to explore and reflect.
When she’s not in her studio creating art, Carol is often found teaching workshops across the United States and Canada.
