Still life photographs are captured in artist’s studio using multiple tiny light sources; a lighting technique developed by the artist. This targeted lighting illuminates very specific areas of the subject matter while surrounding areas drop into varying degrees of shadow.  Artist also uses the traditional technique of applying a substance on the lens of the camera to create an organic filter. Printed on aluminum using dye sublimation process. Very limited editions. Signed, dated and numbered.

Karen Maugans

I developed a lighting technique to illuminate very specific areas of the subject matter while surrounding areas drop into varying degrees of cast shadows.

I carefully select the subjects for each still life.  I custom compose each tableau for originality.  After placing multiple tiny light sources, I use the traditional technique of applying a substance on the lens of the camera to add an organic filter.

Each work is printed on aluminum using dye sublimation process in very limited editions. Each work is signed, dated and numbered.
